CFA Level 1 is the first level out of three levels. Candidates must pass all three levels of examinations one by one. CFA Level I exam takes place twice a year (June and December). CFA Level II & III exams are held once a year (June).
- Have a bachelor’s degree or be in the final year of your bachelor’s degree.
- Or have 4 years of qualified, professional work experience
- Or a combination of work and university experience that totals at least 4 years (Part-time, and internship positions do not qualify)
- Meet the professional conduct criteria of CFA Institute.
All three levels have the same subjects but with different difficulty level and understanding.

All questions are multiple choice and there is no negative marking.
So, Both complement each other.
However, it would be our recommendation that if you are not getting a seat in top 20 B-school. Better go for CFA.
