The FRM designation is a professional certification administrated by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) Since 1997. The FRM designation is globally recognized as gold standard for risk managers.

FRM Exams
There are 2 parts of FRM Exam, FRM Part 1 and FRM Part 2 Exam. You need to pass both of them one by one.
FRM Part I : This builds strong foundation for financial risk management course and equips you with risk management tools.
It is conducted thrice an year in May, August and November.
FRM Part II : Here, you learn actual applications of tools you learnt in part I. Majorly in 3 domains – credit risk, market risk and operational risk.
Year 2020 onward liquidity risk and treasury risk management are also added, these are highly required in banking jobs. This is also twice an year in May/November.

FRM Exam Pattern
The FRM Exam consists of two parts, Part I and Part II, which are both offered twice a year on the third Saturday of May and the third Saturday of November.
FRM Part I: This is an equally-weighted 100 question multiple-choice Exam offered in the morning session of the Exam day. Duration is 4 hours.
FRM Part II: This is also an equally weighted 80 question multiple-choice Exam, but offered in the afternoon of the Exam day. Same 4 hours are give to solve the question paper.
There is no negative marking in FRM course and both frm exam will be computer based testing (CBT) from 2021.
However, Last FRM Part 2 exam will be paper & pencil in May 2021.
You can appear both exam at once. However, if you fail in part I then your part ii paper will not be considered. So, it is advised that give paper one by one.
Main subjects remain same in last 8 years, only in 2020 a new subject Liquidity Risk is added. However, There are few chapter added or removed every year to update the curriculum as per industry needs.
